Color Days 2018!

This year it’s Awesome 80’s Blue vs. Super 70’s Gold!

What was the surprise, or “break”, to start it all? A birthday celebration for Marvin Black in the Dining Hall. The famous Patriot Marching Band and the world-renowned Bushwacker Color Guard burst through the doors and led the campers to Netsy Playhouse for a 1980’s vs. 1970’s BATTLE OF THE BANDS!

Here’s a link to follow the ACTION!

Theme Time!

It’s time to make your Color Days theme suggestions! Campers are submitting some pretty silly ones! What’s yours? Send them to us at and stay tuned for the break!!!

Visiting Day Vibes

It’s the day after Visiting Day. The tents are still up and so is our spirit. What a day it was!  17 new names added to the 10 year tree, a  celebration of Chad’s 50 summers at PFC and most of all a camp full of happy families. Thanks to every parent, sibling, grandparent, alumni and friend who attended PFC’s 88th Visiting Day. It was a perfect day!

And thank you for the record breaking early enrollments. It was the highest early registration ever! Amazing! We appreciate the vote of confidence.

After the last car left Mitchell Field, camp got back to “normal” and reignited for high energy evening activities, girls to MTV night, boys to a rousing campfire. Even our Explorers got into the act (and fell fast asleep when they got back to the bunk!)

There’s a little rain today but the good vibes from yesterday and all of the excitement that lies in store will carry us through these last great weeks of summer!

The Tent is UP!

The tent is officially up, which means Visiting Day is THIS WEEKEND!

We can’t wait to see you on Visiting Day: Saturday, July 21st! It’s getting close! It’s been a great summer so far, and we’re excited for you to experience camp in action! Come one, come all!  Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins – all are welcome!

Visiting Day Guidelines

– No pets, please.
– No nuts or food containing nuts.
– Please just bring enough food for one day. We love friends, but not the furry kind in the bunks.
– No counselor gratuities. A handshake and a good ol’ fashioned ‘Thank You’ goes a long way.
No bunk apparel or gifts, please! You’ve already given your child the gift of camp!
– Camper cell phones collected at camp will not be returned on Visiting Day. Campers will get them on the buses home.
– Our Dining Room will not open until 11:30 AM, when Visiting Day begins. No reservations. No saving tables, please.
What you can bring!
– Love
– Smiles
– Sunshine
– Grandma’s world-class, nut-freechocolate chip cookies

Hike On, Intermediates!

We had a big thunderstorm yesterday with some heavy rain, but today was an absolutely gorgeous sunny Pocono Mountain day . A great day for a hike! And our trip leader, Nafis, took  the intermediates out to one of the most famous hikes in the region, complete with multiple waterfalls. Raymondskill Falls!  We’re on the upward trail!

Bunk Picture Day

In an age of iPhones and hundreds of Campminder photos, there’s something a little nostalgic about an old fashioned bunk picture in uniform. Sure, the everyday action shots are fun and there are plenty to choose from. But some day, when you grow up, it’s that bunk picture that will forever remind you of the best summers of your life.
